I've managed to scratch a brand new CD quite badly - duh!!! Anyone got any tips on how to remedy the situation? It was the first bleedin time I played the damn thing!
Also, excuse any funny things going on with the blog at the moment - have just switched to the new Beta Blogger and currently playing around with it to see how it works!

Hi, I've been really enjoying your blog for ages now.
In answer to your question....
I have seen CD repair kits here in Oz, but I've never tried them myself. I think there is a fluid in them ( or some other product ) which fills in the scratch. If I remember correctly, these kits don't cost too much ($7-12), so I imagine they might be worth a go..... I saw them in the cd music shop.
Also, if you have no luck there, perhaps your cd will copy onto a computer and someone with a cd burner might make a new copy for you. I'm suggesting this because some of my cds which are in bad shape and skip a lot or will no longer play at all in my cd player, still sound perfect on my computer.
I really don't know anything about computers, or cds..... but I hope this helps,
Bye for now.
Coatal Aussie: What do I say, you know what I lurked out there for a wee while too. Knew there was someone in Australia who was logging on (don't get freaked out like I used to, only statcounter!). You just made my night saying that you actually read the damn thing. Thanks for the tip: need something to repair a few cds.
Keep checking the blog out, if you feel like it and great that you're now commenting :-)
Ditto to both of those suggestions ...I've seen cd repair fluid in Virgin in Abu Dhabi ...not sure if they sell it here though...
...I've done the re-burning myself too ...I know it's not the same as having the original with the artwork, but at least you'll have the music.
Very naughty but you could also try re-packaging it and taking it back to the shop and complaining?
But I didn't really say that!
Mise: will have a look around and update if I find any cd cleaning fluid.
Doris: how bold are you? Bad, bad, bad Doris :-)
