A year ago I posted on this blog reminiscing about a childhood bike/pedal car toy. I had tried and failed to find any mention of it anywhere on the web but knew it was called an Ugly Bug and made by Raleigh. Well thanks to Brian (who to be fair sent this to me 2 months ago) I have been reassured that I am not going insane or indeed heading for early dementia - concrete proof above. Brian, who was the head of Concept Design at Raleigh Toys in the 1970's kindly forwarded the above photo of my favourite childhood toy. Ahh, it's so true, they really don't make them like they used to! My own Ugly Bug gave endless hours of entertainment not only to me but to other members of my family for years - they really built them to last so this is a tribute to all the guys at Raleigh and all their hard work years ago! Not sure if the young 'uns of today would be so enthusiastic with all their techy, flashy toys but boy that Ugly Bug was one fun toy in it's day!
BTW: Hope this is not again a once every six/seven months post to blog and that I will return to the blogosphere!

The Ugly Bug is fab!
Now, if only I could motivate myself to post something on my own woefully neglected blog...

I remember that bloody yellow yoke now...jaysus somewhere in the deep recesses of my much mithered and addled brain, it was there. Wow. I especially remember the pedals for some reason.
Glad to see yer back blogging.
Manicmammy - did you have an Ugly Bug too? Wow!
Nah, I wasn't that lucky being the eldest of 7 deprived kids..boo hoo. Had to wait to use my twin cousin's one. It was deadly on the hills mind you.
Manicmammy - must be only twins that are allowed get Ugly Bugs as it was my twin sister and I who had them in our family!
WELCOME BACK!!

I had one of these and I have photographic evidence...
